Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan reaffirmed the government's commitment to preventing farmers from selling their produce at undervalued prices. Speaking at the 'Pusa Krishi Vigyan Mela' 2025 in Delhi, he highlighted the urgency of expanding the reach of new seed varieties and agricultural technologies from research labs to the fields.
Chouhan outlined measures to support farmers, including removing export restrictions on certain crops and modifying import duties on edible oils. He assured the farming community of comprehensive support and highlighted ongoing dialogues with farmers to devise effective solutions for their challenges.
A strong advocate for increasing agricultural productivity, Chouhan underscored the importance of initiatives like PM-KISAN and urged the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) to expedite the dissemination of innovative solutions to farmers through programs like 'Modern Agriculture Chaupal'.
