Swift Housing: Maharashtra's PMAY-G Initiative Earns Praise

Union Home Minister Amit Shah lauded Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for the effective rollout of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana - Gramin (PMAY-G) initiative. The program has allocated 20 lakh homes, and the first installment has been provided to 10 lakh beneficiaries, marking a significant milestone.

Shah praised the seamless transfer of funds, noting that Devendra Fadnavis announced the successful disbursal of installments to all beneficiaries' accounts. He highlighted the contrast between this initiative’s efficiency and the criticisms from opposition leaders, particularly Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, regarding direct benefit transfers.

"Rahul Gandhi questioned the effectiveness of transferring funds to Jan Dhan accounts, but today, under Modi's leadership, 10 lakh people received their first housing installment with a single click," Shah stated. The event, attended by Shah, Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Ministers Ajit Pawar and Eknath Shinde, celebrated the distribution of certificates to beneficiaries in Pune.

During the event, Fadnavis stressed the state's housing project's ambitious scope, noting a Rs 70,000 crore investment, which will reach around one lakh crore with the incorporation of solar energy. (ANI)
