A political storm brews in Punjab as BJP leader Ashwani Kumar Sharma critiqued Congress leader Partap Singh Bajwa's assertions that over 30 AAP MLAs were poised to defect to Congress. He labeled this a 'political comedy,' underscoring a rivalry between AAP and Congress, while emphasizing that BJP's focus remains solely on Punjab's populace.

In a statement to ANI, Sharma dismissed the political tussle as inconsequential to BJP, remarking, 'A political comedy is going on between AAP and Congress. BJP does not need either of them, it only needs the people of Punjab.' He further noted that post-defeat ramifications of AAP's performance in Delhi were evidently influencing Punjab's political dynamics.

Adding to the intrigue, Punjab Minister Lal Chand Kataruchakk questioned the seriousness of the claims about Bajwa's potential BJP ties. Meanwhile, Bajwa compared the situation to Maharashtra's Eknath Shinde episode, indicating potential defections in Punjab, though maintaining that Congress wasn’t plotting government destabilization but welcoming voluntary migrations.
