In a significant breakthrough, Hennur Police have apprehended a suspect involved in a mobile phone theft from an electronics store in Kalyan Nagar, seizing stolen items worth Rs 4.75 lakh. The arrest took place near the Tin Factory in KR Puram on February 1, leading to the recovery of 11 mobile phones and a two-wheeler allegedly used in the crime.
The theft occurred on December 6, 2024, when the store owner closed his shop for the night, only to return the next day to discover that thieves had broken in through the back entrance, stealing 14 phones. A case was registered, and an investigation was initiated by Hennur Police on December 8.
Meticulous police work eventually narrowed the search to a suspect captured near the Tin Factory in KR Puram, who was caught with a stolen phone and a two-wheeler. Upon further interrogation, he confessed and disclosed the location of the remaining stolen phones, leading police to raid a property in Netravati Layout, recovering 10 more phones. The operation was led by Inspector Deepak L., guided by the supervision of DCP East Division D Devaraj and ACP Banaswadi Sub-Division Umashankar A.H. (ANI)
