In the midst of the sacred Mahakumbh 2025, former BJP leader Nupur Sharma took a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam, chanting the name of Lord Shiva. Despite her controversial suspension in June 2022 over remarks about Prophet Mohammed, Sharma participated in the spiritual event with fervor.

The festival draws scores of devotees to Prayagraj, with the Mahashivratri celebration around the corner. Official accounts reveal a turnout of over 62 crore, with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath highlighting the overwhelming participation and cultural unity as a testament to India's enduring faith.

The event has also set its sights on a new Guinness World Record. In an ambitious cleanliness drive, 15,000 sanitation workers are sweeping across venues, backed by a sophisticated evaluation process. Rishi Nath, a Guinness adjudicator, elaborated on the meticulous monitoring and data logging systems designed for the historic attempt.
