Sungrow and Sun Village Illuminate Japan's Renewable Future

Sungrow Japan and Sun Village Co., Ltd. have joined forces to implement 500 MWh of grid-scale energy storage systems across Japan. This collaboration aims to fast-track the country's energy transition, contributing to Japan's decarbonization goals and enhancing Sungrow's presence in the Japanese market.

During Smart Energy Week 2025, Sungrow Japan solidified a notable partnership with Sun Village Co., Ltd., recognized for their pioneering non-FIT solar power plants. The agreement centers on the procurement and sales of extensive grid-scale energy storage systems in Tokyo, aiming to distribute approximately 500 MWh of Sungrow's advanced PowerTitan and PowerStack series across Japan.

Distinguished by their design flexibility, these systems, the container-style PowerTitan and cabinet-style PowerStack, offer various installation configurations. Highlighting their safety measures, the systems incorporate a comprehensive three-tier overcurrent protection mechanism, as well as advanced fire safety and thermal runaway prevention features. Significantly, Sungrow conducted the world's largest battery energy storage system burn test last year, showcasing the products' resilience and reliability.

The endeavor seeks to accelerate Japan's energy transition, aiding the country's decarbonization objectives. Commenting on this collaboration, Mr. Chen Tang, Country Manager of Sungrow Japan, emphasized Sungrow's commitment to delivering cutting-edge solutions and enhancing its brand presence in Japan, thereby reinforcing the broader adoption of renewable energy in the region.
