Delhi Assembly Rocked by Protests as CAG Report Unveils Controversies

The Delhi Assembly's second day was tumultuous as opposition protests escalated, resulting in the suspension of 21 MLAs by Speaker Vijender Gupta until February 28. Amid the chaos, Gupta affirmed that the first CAG report was tabled, with plans to present additional reports during the extended session until March 3.

Gupta announced the formation of a Public Accounts Committee (PAC) involving members from both ruling and opposition parties. The committee will examine the CAG report, and its findings will dictate the House's actions. In parallel, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta unveiled the CAG report on the liquor policy amidst political tension.

Before the session, CM Rekha Gupta convened BJP MLAs to discuss strategies. Speaker Gupta accused the prior government of violating constitutional processes by not tabling the report earlier. The BJP, spearheaded by MLA Arvind Singh Lovely, argued that AAP's delayed report presentation was an attempt to mask corruption, invoking historical figures to strengthen their claims.

Delhi BJP President Vijender Gupta labeled the CAG report as 'evidence of AAP's misconduct,' reiterating electoral promises of accountability. Minister Pravesh Verma emphasized public transparency by displaying the report publicly, while Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa promised that the report would reveal suppressed scams under Arvind Kejriwal's administration.
