Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar has made an impassioned plea to all Indian citizens of eligible age, urging them to register as voters and participate in the electoral process. Speaking to reporters, Kumar stressed the civic responsibility of voting, calling it 'the first step towards national service.'

During his visit to Madurai, Kumar lauded the work of local election officers and assured the public of the Election Commission of India's unwavering support for voters. Meanwhile, preparations are underway for a significant conference in New Delhi, aimed at fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing among India's Chief Electoral Officers from various states and union territories.

Newly appointed on February 19, CEC Kumar emphasized the importance of voting as a foundational act of nation-building. Accompanied by fellow commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi, Kumar is poised to lead efforts in strengthening India's electoral framework.
