India's Push for Greater Ethanol Blending

India plans to increase ethanol blending in petrol beyond 20%, with a committee under NITI Aayog consulting on the matter. Achieving 19.6% so far, the country aims for further blending advancements. India is considering raising its ethanol blending target in petrol to over 20%, according to Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep S Puri. This information was shared at the Advantage Assam 2.0 business summit.

Puri pointed out that the country has already achieved a 19.6% blending rate and plans to surpass the 20% mark. A committee under NITI Aayog is examining the feasibility of further integration of biofuel.

Despite facing developmental challenges, Puri assured that all fossil fuel companies in India will reach net zero by 2045. This reflects the country's commitment to sustainable energy practices.
