Uttarakhand Gears Up for Kedarnath Pilgrimage, Gates to Open May 2

The state of Uttarakhand is bracing for the Kedarnath pilgrimage season, with Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami confirming that preparations are in full swing as the temple is set to reopen its gates on May 2. He highlighted it as an 'auspicious day' for devotees.

Dhami noted that the government has reviewed past experiences to fine-tune arrangements for the pilgrimage, which is witnessing a surge in devotee numbers each year. A multi-level organizational effort is underway to meet this growing demand, ensuring swift and thorough implementation.

A series of rituals are planned leading up to the reopening, starting with the worship of Lord Bhairavnath on April 27, followed by the traditional departure of Panch Mukhi Doli from Ukhimath to the Dham on April 28. Devotees are poised for a spiritually enriching journey, thanks to meticulous planning by the state administration.
