Union Minister Advocates 'One Nation-One Election' for India's Progress

Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has called for India's elections to be synchronized, arguing that frequent electoral processes hinder the nation's growth and development. Chouhan made his remarks during a seminar titled 'One Nation-One Election' at the Oriental Group of Institutes in Bhopal, where he engaged with students on the topic.

Addressing the media, Chouhan explained that current election cycles impede long-term planning and decision-making due to the constant state of political campaigning. He cited the Ram Nath Kovind committee report as a potential roadmap to implementing synchronized elections, suggesting that legislative assembly votes could align with Lok Sabha polls.

Beyond electoral reforms, Chouhan also congratulated Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for the successful Mahakumbh event in Prayagraj. He praised the cultural significance and unity demonstrated during the festival, which attracted participation from half the nation's population, highlighting it as a testament to India's enduring traditions.
