In a drive to address gender imbalance, Andhra Pradesh's TDP Lok Sabha member K Appala Naidu has introduced a new initiative offering Rs 50,000 for every third girl child born in his constituency. The fixed deposit could reach Rs 10 lakh by the girl's marriageable age.

This move, announced during International Women's Day celebrations, is inspired by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu's call to boost India's population. The parliamentarian intends to support women, recognizing the discrimination they face, by fostering an environment that encourages their growth and contributions.

Extending the initiative to all women in his constituency, Naidu credits influential women in his life, including family members, for motivating him to champion this cause. The scheme provides a cow and calf if the third child is a boy, promoting growth while emphasizing gender equality.
