Congress MLA Rizwan Arshad has raised significant concerns over the BJP government's decision to allot 12 acres of land in Tumakuru to a company with ties to Kannada actress Ranya Rao. Arshad questioned the legitimacy of the allotment, wondering if Rao is an industrialist or smuggler.
Mahesh, the CEO of the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB), explained that the land was approved for Ksiroda India Pvt. Ltd., a company linked to Rao, during the 137th State Level Single Window Clearance Committee meeting. This allotment coincided with the previous government's tenure and was finalized on January 2, 2023.
Arshad highlighted that the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) are investigating the land allotment case. Ranya Rao's arrest for allegedly smuggling 14.8 kilograms of gold from Dubai has added fuel to the controversy. Meanwhile, shifting focus to another issue, Arshad criticized the BJP for their handling of the Hampi rape incident, assuring that the state government is committed to ensuring justice and upholding women's safety and dignity.
