SJVN Ltd, along with the Government of Chhattisgarh and the Chhattisgarh State Power Generation Company Limited, is set to embark on a monumental 1,800GW pumped hydro storage project. This initiative, planned for Kotpali in Chhattisgarh, involves an investment of Rs 9,500 crore.

The recently signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is expected to pave the way for significant energy production, with the project designed to generate around 3,967 million units (MU) of energy. The development also promises substantial employment opportunities, with an estimated 5,000 people to be engaged.

Located in the Balrampur District, the off-stream closed-loop Kotpali project underscores a strategic push towards sustainable energy solutions, reflecting a collaborative effort between state and corporate entities to bolster energy capabilities.
