Harmony Overlaps: Prayer and Festival Timings Harmonized in Uttarakhand and UP

In a collaborative effort to ensure peace, authorities in Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh have rescheduled Friday Namaaz to avoid conflict with Holika Dahan festivities. Community leaders emphasize unity among Hindus and Muslims, ensuring successful timing adjustments for religious observances to promote harmony during Holi.

Authorities in the cities of Haridwar, Uttarakhand, and Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, have rescheduled the Friday Namaaz prayers to the afternoon on March 14. This decision, announced on Tuesday, aims to prevent overlap with the Holika Dahan ceremonies, thereby maintaining peace during the Holi festival.

Haridwar's Superintendent of Police, Pankaj Gairola, stated that community leaders met to agree on holding Friday prayers after 2:30 pm. Gairola emphasized that the meeting was successful and assured that any disruptions to law and order would be dealt with strictly. He noted that the district has been organized into zones with adequate police presence to ensure stability.

Maulana Arif Qasmi from Jamia Ulama Uttarakhand highlighted the long-standing harmony between Hindus and Muslims in the region. Meanwhile, in Gorakhpur, Mufti Munawwar Raza of Mubarak Khan Dargah announced a similar adjustment, with prayers scheduled after 2 pm. BJP MP Sanjay Jaiswal encouraged communal celebration of Holi, stressing the importance of societal care and unity.
