Bengaluru Robbery Solved: Gold Worth Rs 8 Lakh Recovered

A man was apprehended by Karnataka Police for a robbery near the Varthur Police Station in Bengaluru. Authorities reported on Tuesday that they recovered gold valued at Rs 8 lakh as part of the operation.

The suspect was arrested in the vicinity of Varthur Lake, following a complaint filed by a local resident whose home was burgled on January 30. The resident had returned to find their front door forced open and gold jewelry stolen. A theft case was promptly registered at Varthur Police Station.

Interrogation of the accused revealed that he had passed the stolen jewelry to a relative in Cottonpet. The relative surrendered the 106 grams of gold, valued at Rs 8 lakh, to law enforcement officials. This significant investigation was supervised by DCP Shivakumar Gunare and ACP Priyadarshini Ishwar Sanekoppar, as detailed in a police statement.
