The Economic Offences Court in Bengaluru postponed the bail hearing of Kannada actress Ranya Rao to March 14. She was arrested for allegedly smuggling gold through Bengaluru airport. The court has also reserved its decision on her bail plea until that date.

Amidst the legal proceedings, Congress MLA Ajay Dharam Singh accused a central minister of being involved in the gold smuggling case linked to Ranya Rao. He alleged that the minister's involvement indicates that the responsibility lies with the central government, given the international nature of her travel from Dubai.

BJP leader Amit Malviya intensified the political drama by sharing a picture of Ranya Rao with Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, stirring controversy over potential political ties. Malviya's remarks, tagged with 'Congress Gold Field,' suggest that the case has implicated high-ranking officials, with Gaurav Gupta now leading the investigation.

The allegations have led to further scrutiny over Ranya Rao's use of courtesy services at the airport, raising suspicions of misuse to avoid detection. Her arrest by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence resulted from suspicions of illegally importing 14.8 kilograms of gold from Dubai.

Ranya Rao was brought to a special court for financial offences and is currently under judicial custody till March 18. She maintains that her Dubai visit was business-related, but authorities suspect otherwise. The investigation continues under the leadership of Additional Chief Secretary Gaurav Gupta.
