In a decisive operation, Chhattisgarh security forces neutralized 16 Naxals in the Sukma district, retrieving a substantial cache of arms, including AK-47 rifles. The encounter, reported as one of the largest in Sukma, unfolded in the Kerlapal area, underscoring ongoing efforts to curb Naxal influence in the region.
Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma, speaking to ANI, stressed the government's dual focus on peace and a robust surrender policy, ensuring minimal disruption to local life. This came after the recovery of incriminating materials and weapons from the encounter site, following precise intelligence inputs.
Sukma Superintendent of Police Kiran Chavan confirmed the operation's success, while acknowledging injuries sustained by two jawans.
