Maharashtra Ramps Up Security Amid Indo-Pak Tensions

Amid increasing tensions between India and Pakistan, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has reviewed state security and issued directives for enhanced preparedness. Measures include mock drills, coordination with hospitals during blackouts, intensified vigilance, and cyber audits, aiming to ensure public safety and counter potential threats.

Maharashtra is stepping up its security measures in response to escalating tensions with Pakistan. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis conducted an extensive review of the state's preparedness, focusing on mock drills, blackouts, and strategic coordination among police and administrative agencies, as per the Chief Minister's Office.

Fadnavis emphasized the need for district-level war rooms and coordination with hospitals during blackouts. He advocated for the use of alternate power sources, dark-colored curtains, and public awareness videos to mitigate the impact of potential attacks.

Efforts to bolster security include vigilance against cyber threats, instructing the cyber cells to monitor social media for enemy-supportive content, and deploying fishing trawlers for coastal security. A collaborative approach with the Army and Coast Guard top brass via video conferences is also in the pipeline to enhance coordination.
