In the wake of a tragic accident in Chhattisgarh's Saragaon that claimed 13 lives, Congress leader Bhupesh Baghel has voiced grave concerns over the rising number of road accidents in the state. He urged the Bharatiya Janata Party-led government to take decisive action to address the situation.
Expressing his condolences, Baghel highlighted that a total of 23 individuals have died in various road accidents recently. He emphasized the need for both preventive measures and ex gratia support for the victims' families.
The accident involved a truck colliding with a trailer near Raipur-Balodabazar Road, with villagers returning from a program. In response, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari announced plans for a safety assessment rating for trucks, mirroring the Bharat NCAP, to enhance vehicle production quality.
