Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri extolled the achievements of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) as it marked 11 years in power, emphasizing the need for continued development in Delhi. Puri noted India's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) had soared from two trillion to four trillion dollars during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership.
Addressing the media, Puri insisted there were no excuses left in delivering development promises. "With PM Modi's 11 years of governance and the backing of local bodies, it's time to ensure Delhi gets what it rightfully deserves," he asserted. He also highlighted the impact of the "triple-engine government" visible across the Centre, Delhi, and the Municipal Corporation of Delhi.
Puri, recalling Delhi's evolution since the partition, observed the city's population surge past two crores due to migratory waves. Meanwhile, Union Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways, Sarbananda Sonowal, projected India would become the world's third-largest economy by 2029, attributing the progress to Modi's decisive governance.
Sonowal highlighted India's developmental trajectory, rising above policy paralysis and dynasty politics to embrace innovation and infrastructure expansion. "Over 25 crore Indians have climbed out of poverty in just a decade," he boasted, as he outlined the booming startup ecosystem, growing from 30,000 in 2014 to over 1 lakh today.
