In the wake of the AI171 tragedy, Air India CEO Campbell Wilson has reaffirmed the safety of the airline's Boeing 787 fleet. On Friday, Wilson communicated that comprehensive checks have been completed, in accordance with the Directorate General of Civil Aviation's standards, asserting that the carrier exercises maximum caution to ensure airworthiness.

Despite the crash, which claimed 241 lives in Ahmedabad, the airline pledges unwavering support for victims' families through ongoing recovery efforts and counseling services. Wilson emphasized the transparency of operations and promised steadfast assistance from the wider Tata Group long after immediate needs are met.

The Air India chief reassured staff with a commitment to enhancing safety measures, although he reiterated the need to wait for the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau's formal conclusions on the incident. Wilson also addressed reduced flight operations due to increased pre-flight checks and geopolitically influenced airspace adjustments, aiming to restore services prudently.
