The central government has pledged to procure moong and urad from Madhya Pradesh and urad from Uttar Pradesh at minimum support prices (MSP), a move aimed at guaranteeing farmers fair compensation according to a recent official statement.
The Union Minister convened with agricultural leaders from the involved states, receiving authorization for this initiative under the Price Support Scheme (PSS) due to market prices dipping below the MSP. Cooperative bodies such as NAFED and NCCF will execute the crop procurement.
