The State Bank of India (SBI) commemorates its 70th anniversary, marking a decade of significant digital transformation that has greatly benefited its customers, according to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
Sitharaman praised SBI's vast network of branches and ATMs while highlighting the bank's commitment to supporting farmers, self-help groups, artisans, and other sectors, as SBI plays 'the Banker to every Indian.'
On the occasion, SBI announced its plan to solarize 4 million homes by FY27 as part of its renewable energy efforts. Chairman C S Setty emphasized SBI's focus on innovation, sustainability, and inclusive growth, seeking to lead with purpose and adapt to the evolving economy.
