Germany Lowers Gas Storage Targets Amid Improving Supply

In response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Germany implemented a three-stage emergency plan in June 2022 to cut dependency on Russian gas. Since then, it has developed LNG terminals and secured contracts with countries like Qatar and Norway.

Economy Minister Katherina Reiche confirmed that Germany's gas supply is stable, negating the need for certain emergency measures. Though storage levels have been lowered for the upcoming winter, analysts warn of potential risks if temperatures drop significantly.
