Tragedy Strikes: Six Students Drown in Mining Accident

Six Northeastern University students drowned during a visit to a copper molybdenum mine in China after falling into a flotation cell. In a tragic event, six students from Northeastern University in Shenyang drowned at a copper molybdenum mine in China's Inner Mongolia region. The mine, owned by Zhongjin Gold Corp, witnessed this catastrophe when the protective grates of a flotation cell collapsed.

The incident has injured a teacher as well and led to an immediate halt in production at the site. Zhongjin Gold, a part of China National Gold Group Co, activated an emergency response plan and reported the incident to local authorities.

Following the accident, Zhongjin Gold's stocks fell 4.4%. A teacher noted that such field trips have been a longstanding practice. Northeastern University has dispatched staff to the site to handle the aftermath. The situation remains under close scrutiny.
