In a bold assertion of regional autonomy, Assam's Minister Atul Bora has voiced unwavering support for the state's eviction drive aimed at removing illegal encroachments in tribal areas. Spearheaded by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, the initiative is deemed crucial for the protection of tribal land. Bora highlighted the CM's active involvement, emphasizing the significance of monitoring progress across districts. 'We wholeheartedly support this initiative by the CM,' Bora stated in a conversation with ANI, underscoring the necessity of addressing such encroachments.

The Assam State BJP announced on Tuesday that the eviction mission will press on relentlessly until every illegally claimed piece of land is restored. Describing the drive as more than an administrative measure, the BJP calls it a definitive battle to safeguard Assam's very existence. 'Our efforts won't wane in the face of intimidation or political pressure,' declared BJP spokesperson Kalyan Gogoi, resonating with the resolve of Chief Minister Sarma.

Gogoi criticized the Congress for its alleged historical negligence, accusing it of facilitating unchecked settlements for electoral advantage, compromising the legacy of the 855 martyrs from the Assam Movement. He commended Sarma for defending Assam's cultural and political integrity, stating that the drive is vital for securing the future of indigenous communities in the state.
