Kerala-based rapper Hirandas Murali, popularly known as Vedan, has been accused of sexual assault, following a complaint from a young doctor. The doctor alleges that Vedan engaged in sexual relations under false marriage promises between August 2021 and March 2023, according to Thrikkakara police in Kochi.

The investigation, currently underway, reveals that Vedan and the doctor met via Instagram. The complaint details incidents at the doctor's Kozhikode home and other locations. By late 2023, Vedan's alleged evasion led the doctor into depression.

Previously, in April, Vedan was arrested when authorities found ganja and Rs 9 lakhs at his apartment. He reportedly admitted to drug use. This situation layers onto earlier #MeToo allegations, further complicating the artist's legal challenges.
