Modi's Assam Visit: New Projects, Celebrations, and Initiatives

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's scheduled visit to Assam on September 8 will mark significant infrastructural and cultural landmarks, according to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. He unveiled plans for Modi to inaugurate a bio-refinery in Numaligarh and lay the foundation for multiple development projects.
The Assam Chief Minister outlined the details during a press conference, stating that the bio-refinery, a pivotal Rs. 4,200-crore project, will not only focus on ethanol production but also derive various chemicals as value-added products. In addition, Prime Minister Modi is set to lay the foundation stone for a new bridge over the Brahmaputra River and the ring road. Furthermore, he will participate in the birth anniversary celebrations of Bhupen Hazarika in Guwahati.
In related developments, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will visit Assam on August 29 to inaugurate the newly built Raj Bhawan in Guwahati. He will also attend the National Democratic Alliance's Panchayat members' convention, which coincides with recent electoral victories. Meanwhile, CM Sarma addressed the persistent issue of forest land encroachment, emphasizing ongoing efforts to resolve the matter over the next decade. He also highlighted the imminent launch of Orunodoi 3.0 and Nijut Moina schemes, aimed at enhancing financial support for selected families and promoting education for girl students.
