Tragedy struck in Nagpur as an 80-year-old doctor succumbed to poisoning, leaving his 70-year-old wife in critical condition. The couple reportedly ingested poison to escape their prolonged health difficulties, according to local authorities.
Residing in Samarth Nagari within the jurisdiction of Sonegaon police station, the couple endured ongoing battles with serious health issues, including the doctor's stomach ulcers and dental problems.
Police discovered them early Wednesday morning, with the doctor lying on the porch and his wife inside. Evidence at the scene included pesticide bottles and suicide notes expressing the doctor's loneliness and absolving others of responsibility for his drastic decision.
