A bridge collapse near Gangnani caused major road disruptions, prompting the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) to begin constructing a new bridge to restore connectivity, according to Uttarakhand Police.
In response to the recent cloudburst and heavy rains, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) has established temporary support systems using steel wires and deployed teams across affected areas, including Dabrani and Dharali, to assist with rescue and support operations.
Uttarakhand's Chief Minister, Pushkar Singh Dhami, announced the donation of his monthly salary for relief efforts and appealed for public help. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has also increased its rescue operations with 18 teams deployed in the region, rescuing hundreds of stranded civilians.
Amidst ongoing rescue efforts, the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) and other forces have participated in evacuations, and a significant number of people from multiple states have been safely relocated, further emphasizing the collaborative efforts in the region.
