The event occurred in Phiringmal village, where local residents found the minor in a half-burnt state at a nearby football ground. She was immediately taken to the hospital. The motive behind the attempt remains unclear, but the victim reportedly used petrol to set herself on fire.
This incident follows similar tragedies involving three other women since mid-July. These cases have sparked concern and highlight a disturbing trend in the region, underscoring the urgency for preventive measures and support systems.
