An unexplained blast in Russia's Ryazan region has claimed at least 20 lives and injured 134 individuals, according to local emergency services on Monday. The explosion occurred at a production facility, and details surrounding the cause remain unclear.

The fire, which triggered the explosion, erupted inside a factory workshop, as reported by Pavel Malkov, Ryazan's regional governor. Despite ongoing investigations, Russian media have not clarified the factory's production activities or the fire's origin.

On August 18, Ryazan's emergency services updated the casualty figures on Telegram, noting that out of the 134 injured, 31 are hospitalized in Ryazan and Moscow. Meanwhile, 103 are receiving outpatient treatment.
