In a scathing critique, Revolutionary Socialist Party MP N.K. Premachandran lambasted the government for hastily introducing the Constitution (One Hundred and Thirtieth Amendment) Bill, 2025. Addressing ANI, he described it as 'bulldozing of legislation' because the draft was not distributed among members.

Earlier, Union Home Minister Amit Shah tabled three bills, including the primary amendment and another concerning Jammu and Kashmir. Amid tensions, opposition members showed their dissent by tearing copies of the bills in the Lok Sabha.

The contentious amendment aims to alter the basic structure of the Constitution, while providing legislative frameworks for leadership removal in cases of serious offenses. The bills have been sent to a Joint Committee after objections from opposition and concerns over procedural lapses.
