Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday inaugurated the first phase of Patna's Metro Rail Project, a 3.6-km elevated stretch marking the start of the Blue Line, connecting the Inter-State Bus Terminal (ISBT) and Bhoothnath station. This development marks a pivotal moment in improving urban transport infrastructure.
The Patna Metro project, with an estimated cost of Rs 13,365 crores, was initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2019. The local BJP leadership, including Bihar BJP President Dilip Jaiswal, expressed optimism that the metro will significantly alleviate traffic woes in Patna and contribute to greater environmental benefits.
Jaiswal declared the metro's opening a historic moment for Patna, underlining its potential to transform urban mobility. He critiqued the Opposition for their lack of a development agenda, crediting the NDA government for addressing voter needs. JD(U) leader Rajiv Ranjan Prasad lauded CM Kumar's initiatives, celebrating the project's role in fulfilling a long-standing public ambition and reducing traffic congestion.
