A viral video showing three women offering namaz at Pune's historic Shaniwarwada has ignited controversy, with protests led by BJP MP Medha Kulkarni and other organizations. The incident has resulted in an FIR under the Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains (AMASR) Rules, 1959.

The prayer incident occurred around 1:45 PM on Saturday, prompting an Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) officer to file a complaint with Pune City Police. The subsequent video sparked protests, with demonstrators, including Medha Kulkarni, performing purification rituals at the site and leading to heightened security measures.

Maharashtra Minister Nitesh Rane commented on the controversial video, addressing concerns about religious practices at historical sites. Rane questioned if similar situations would be tolerated by other communities and emphasized that religious practices should occur in designated areas.
