In a significant humanitarian gesture, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath flagged off a convoy delivering 1,000 quintals of wheat seeds to support flood-affected farmers in Punjab. Announcing the initiative from his official residence, Adityanath highlighted the state's unwavering solidarity with the distressed agricultural community, emphasizing that true celebration of Diwali lies in acts of compassion and service.
The assistance, comprising 2,500 bags of bio-fortified, disease-resistant BB-327 wheat seeds, marks a profound commitment under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. These seeds, known for their high yield potential, signify not only support but also the robust recovery of the Uttar Pradesh Seeds Development Corporation, which has turned a profit of Rs 37 crore within a year.
Adityanath also revealed plans for a 'Seed Park' in Lucknow dedicated to former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh, with more parks eyed for development across the state. This initiative aims to foster agricultural innovation further, taking inspiration from the Sikh teachings of service and welfare celebrated this Diwali and on Guru Har Gobind Ji Maharaj’s birth anniversary.
