UCO Bank Set to Open 150 New Branches by March 2026
State-owned UCO Bank plans to expand its branch network by adding 150 new locations in the next five months, increasing its total branches to 3,472. The bank also aims to enhance branch ambience and hire more skilled workers. Financially, UCO Bank reported increased profits and improved asset quality in Q2 2025.

UCO Bank, the state-owned financial institution headquartered in Kolkata, has unveiled plans to inaugurate an additional 150 branches within the next five months, raising its total network to 3,472 branches. The decision, approved by the board, aligns with the bank's strategy to bolster its business presence.
Ashwani Kumar, UCO Bank's MD & CEO, announced the expansion during a call after the second quarter results. Besides expanding its reach, the bank is focusing on enhancing branch ambience and strengthening its IT, digital, and cybersecurity teams with more skilled hires.
Financially, for the second quarter ending September 2025, UCO Bank reported a net profit increase to Rs 620 crore, up 3% from the same period last year. Both total and interest income saw a notable rise, while the bank's asset quality improved, evidenced by a reduction in non-performing assets.
