Indian Oil's Gujarat Refinery, in collaboration with various agencies, conducted a Level III offsite disaster mock drill to test emergency preparedness. In a bid to enhance emergency preparedness, Indian Oil's Gujarat Refinery executed a comprehensive Level III offsite disaster mock drill on Thursday, working closely with Vadodara district administration and various local agencies.

The drill represented a significant, cross-agency emergency response exercise designed to address potential major incidents like gas leaks or fires. It involved departments such as DISH, GSDMA, and the District Crisis Group, and included support from external bodies like NDRF, CISF, and local police.

The simulated scenario occurred in the SRU-III unit, with a theoretical gas leak affecting the ONGC terminal and nearby villages. Emergency response teams rapidly deployed strategies, such as using water curtains to manage the situation. Post-drill, a debriefing chaired by Vadodara Rural SDM Aishwarya Dubey provided further insights.
