The revised pricing sets the early variety of sugarcane at Rs 400 per quintal, while the common variety settles at Rs 390. According to Minister Laxmi Narayan Chaudhary, this change will provide an additional Rs 3,000 crore in payments to farmers, marking the fourth price hike during the current administration's term.
The increase aims to enhance farmers' incomes and invigorate the rural economy. With 122 operational sugar mills and substantial new investment flows, Uttar Pradesh remains at the forefront of India's sugar production, backed by the state's focus on fair payments and transparent management.
