The Indian Air Force (IAF) on Sunday marked a significant milestone with the inauguration of the inaugural Sekhon IAF Marathon 2025. Air Chief Marshal AP Singh flagged off the event, which featured runs of varying distances, at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi. The marathon aims to celebrate the bravery of the IAF and inspire a collective spirit of fitness and unity.
Held in tribute to Flying Officer Nirmal Jit Singh Sekhon, the sole Param Vir Chakra recipient from the IAF, the marathon garnered significant attention. Air Chief Marshal Singh urged continued support, stating, 'The marathon is a homage to the heroes of our nation, and it will motivate future generations.' Air Marshal Narmdeshwar Tiwari echoed appreciation for the initiative's resounding success while highlighting the synergy with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Fit India program.
Notable personalities, including actors Archana Puran Singh and Huma Qureshi, lent their support to the event. Qureshi expressed pride in the IAF's distinguished service, while Singh praised the collaboration involving Netflix, citizens, and the armed forces.
