In the face of dwindling tourist numbers, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah expressed concern over the state's tourism challenges this year. Speaking to the press, Abdullah highlighted the impact of a dry November on popular destinations, emphasizing the region's reliance on a potential snow-laden December to rekindle visitor arrivals.
"Wherever there are business-to-business relations, it is expected that people associated with the tourism industry will benefit. The biggest factor contributing to tourism is promotion and marketing," Abdullah pointed out. He stressed that despite the dry spell, tourists continue to visit locations like Pahalgam, and anticipated snowfall could significantly boost tourism figures.
Addressing further issues, Abdullah criticized the central government's involvement in state affairs, highlighting what he perceives as unjust targeting and urging them to allow for fair governance. He called for the swift implementation of the J&K Reorganisation Act and a return to statehood for Jammu and Kashmir, advocating for adherence to democratic principles. (ANI)
