The Southeast District of Delhi Police has effectively dismantled a major international digital fraud and extortion syndicate, apprehending ten fraudsters across multiple Indian states. This operation, conducted through meticulously coordinated raids, led to the detention of suspects from Delhi, Mumbai, Kerala, Odisha, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana. Among those arrested is the alleged mastermind of the operation.

Authorities have recovered over Rs. 50 crore as part of the probe, which is linked to 61 complaints filed through the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal. Key arrests have been made in Kerala, Delhi, and Mumbai, highlighting these cities as critical nodes in the syndicate's operations. Back in December, the CBI had already filed a chargesheet against 17 individuals, including foreign nationals and 58 companies, elevating this case to a transnational cyber fraud investigation.

Investigations revealed a sophisticated, single coordinated syndicate that leveraged extensive digital and financial networks to execute their fraud. Included in their operations were fraudulent loan applications, fake job offers, and online gaming platforms designed to mislead citizens. Acting on intelligence provided by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Delhi Police and CBI have exposed the network, which featured 111 shell companies and multiple illegalities, prompting a robust legal response under various criminal statutes.
