The owners of a Goa nightclub, Gaurav and Saurabh Luthra, have been placed under arrest following their alleged involvement in a devastating fire that led to 25 fatalities at 'Birch by Romeo Lane' on December 6. Goa Police have sought their transit remand to further investigate safety violations at the venue.

According to police reports presented in the Patiala House Court, the tragedy unfolded when a fireworks display was organized at the club without essential firefighting equipment. Authorities are still probing the incident, focusing on retrieving key documents related to operation permits and uncovering any conspiracy behind the tragic event.

Despite initially fleeing abroad, the accused were apprehended upon returning and are now set to be transferred to Goa for further legal proceedings. Duty Metropolitan Magistrate Twinkle Chawla sanctioned a 48-hour transit remand, emphasizing the necessity for continued investigation under Goan jurisdiction.
