The Vande Bharat Express, currently linking Punjab's Ferozpur and Delhi, will now make a stop in Barnala. This development was disclosed by Ravneet Singh Bittu, Minister of State for Railways, during an announcement on Wednesday. The decision follows demands by AAP MP Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer and BJP local leaders, who advocated for the train's halt at Barnala.

"There is good news for Barnala," the Minister stated, explaining that local entrepreneurs and the public will significantly benefit from the new stop. Previously, local leaders had insisted on the addition, with Minister Bittu acknowledging their requests, saying he was urged to visit Barnala only after its approval.

On a previous occasion, AAP MP Meet Hayer expressed dissatisfaction over the exclusion of Barnala from the train's schedule, leading to calls for protests and a planned adjournment motion in Parliament. With the train now officially stopping at Barnala, the Firozpur-Delhi Vande Bharat Express reaffirms its status as a vital link between major Punjab cities and the national capital, thanks to its efficient 6-hour 40-minute travel duration.
