BJP-Shiv Sena Alliance Leads in BMC Elections Amid Controversy and High Voter Turnout

In the recently held Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections, initial trends reveal a strong lead for the BJP-Shiv Sena Mahayuti alliance, which is leading in 93 wards. Meanwhile, the Shiv Sena (UBT) and MNS alliance is trailing, securing 57 wards, with the Congress taking the lead in 10 wards.
According to the preliminary data from the vote count, the BJP leads in 17 wards, with Shiv Sena (UBT) following with nine. In the Nagpur civic polls, the BJP shows promise, leading in 78 of 151 seats. The Pune Municipal Corporation results reveal the BJP now holds leads in 50 of 165 seats, sidelining the NCP factions.
In Thane Municipal Corporation, BJP dominates in 21 of 131 wards. The recently concluded elections in India's wealthiest municipal corporation were marred by allegations yet were disproved by the State Election Commissioner. With a voter turnout of 52.94%, the elections set the stage for a new mayor after four years.
