PM Modi Unveils India's First Vande Bharat Sleeper Train in West Bengal
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate India's first Vande Bharat Sleeper Train, enhancing connectivity between Howrah and Guwahati. Alongside this, he will also unveil new trains in West Bengal and lay the foundation for infrastructure projects worth over Rs 3,250 crore.

In a significant development, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate India's first Vande Bharat Sleeper Train service, set to enhance connectivity between Howrah and Guwahati. This move is part of a series of initiatives to modernize the railway infrastructure in West Bengal and the Northeastern region.
The Railway Minister, Ashwini Vaishnaw, emphasized that this new train, along with other infrastructural projects, represents a gift to West Bengal from the Prime Minister. A total of 101 railway stations, including the New Jalpaiguri hub, are undergoing major reconstructions, aiming to become global standards.
Moreover, Modi is scheduled to visit Malda where he will flag off the Vande Bharat Sleeper Train at the station and also lay the foundation for substantial rail and road projects. The initiative underscores the government's commitment to improving transport links and fostering development in the region.
