Security Forces Clash with Maoists in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur

A confrontation has erupted between security forces and Maoists in the Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh as a result of an intelligence-driven search operation. The operation, coordinated by a joint security team, targeted the northwestern part of the state, according to Bastar's Inspector General P Sundarraj.
Since the early hours, intermittent gunfire has been reported from the conflict zone. Officials have indicated that comprehensive information regarding the engagement will be disclosed following the operation's conclusion, said the Bastar IG.
In related developments, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on January 13 charged a third individual in the case concerning efforts to revive the Naxal Northern Regional Bureau. The supplementary chargesheet names Priyanshu Kashyap, alias Rakesh, of Bastar district, in connection with unlawful activities under various sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
