Rahul Gandhi's Two-Day Push Against Rural Employment Law

Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, is set to visit his parliamentary constituency, Raebareli, Uttar Pradesh, for a two-day campaign against the scrapping of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA).
During this visit, scheduled to commence on January 20, Gandhi will engage with constituents through a 'MGNREGA Chaupal' in Rohaniya, inaugurate a cricket tournament, and meet senior party leaders. He will also challenge the newly enacted Viksit Bharat- Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) Act, 2025 (VB-G RAM G).
The Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee President, Ajay Rai, announced a series of protests including 30 Mahapanchayats statewide. These actions are part of a larger 'MGNREGA Bachao' campaign opposing the recent legislative changes, with nationwide agitation phases planned through February 2025.
