Rahul Gandhi's Two-Day Push Against Rural Employment Law

Rahul Gandhi, Congress MP, heads to Raebareli for a two-day visit to contest the new employment law replacing MGNREGA. Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, is set to visit his parliamentary constituency, Raebareli, Uttar Pradesh, for a two-day campaign against the scrapping of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA).

During this visit, scheduled to commence on January 20, Gandhi will engage with constituents through a 'MGNREGA Chaupal' in Rohaniya, inaugurate a cricket tournament, and meet senior party leaders. He will also challenge the newly enacted Viksit Bharat- Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) Act, 2025 (VB-G RAM G).

The Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee President, Ajay Rai, announced a series of protests including 30 Mahapanchayats statewide. These actions are part of a larger 'MGNREGA Bachao' campaign opposing the recent legislative changes, with nationwide agitation phases planned through February 2025.
