HKMA to issue first stablecoin licenses in March

Hong ‌Kong Monetary Authority's review for ⁠stablecoin issuer license applications is nearly finished, and the ​regulator will strive ‍to issue the first batch of stablecoin ⁠issuer ‌licenses ⁠in March, Chief Executive Eddie ‍Yue said on Monday.

Speaking ​at a Legislative Council ⁠meeting, he said ⁠the initial target is to issue a "very ⁠small number" of licenses.
